Quality Management System (ISO)

 

Quality Management is a guarantee for effectiveness and ability to apply all the necessary activities  of designing  and developing to accomplish the service “final product” in establishments .  The International Standardization For Organization(ISO) was found to measure the quality of services  in publishing a standardized specifications for QMS.

In 1987, the organization established the first edition of  9000 family consisting of 9001,9002 and 9003 which was based on the final philosophy of examining products  validity to apply on all the deferent industrial institutions  according to their activities; under the name ISO 9000:1987. The institutions that focus in their activities on   fields like  designing ,developing, producing , installing and service apply the specification ISO 9001:1987. On the other hand, the institutions that focus in their activities on  producing ,installing and offering services apply the specification ISO9002:1987. For the final inspection it applies the specification ISO 9003:1987.

In 1994, the second edition ISO 9000 was released to confirm the quality guarantee through taking a precautionary procedures instead of examining the institution final outcomes   .

 With the beginning of this century , the international standardization organization  published its third edition ISO 9001:2000, which combine three standards ISO9001-ISO9002-ISO9003. This specification took the process method as its Philosophy . Also, this edition is coupled  with the specification ISO 9000:2000 to take care of basics and QMS terminology  . The specification  ISO 9004:2000 forms a proof of developing performance  which overrun the basic requirements of the international specification ISO9001:2000.

The specification ISO9001 marks the requirements of QMS which can be used inside the institutions, awarding certifications or contract purposes . It focuses on the effectiveness of QMS in fulfilling the client requirements. On the other hand, the specification ISO9004 this standard specification offers action guidelines for apply QMS to achieve sustainable success for the establishment in a critical variable environment which has many requirements. It worth  mentioning  that ISO9004 is not used in awarding certificates , organizational and contract purposes.

The international organization made a change on the specification ISO9000 in 2005 to explain some definitions.

On November 2008 , the international organization published the fourth edition ISO9001 and made changes on it . such as , giving explanations of  some requirements without  vital change in edition 2000 specific requirements .

On September 15th 2015, The international Specification  fifth edition ISO 9001 was published . Essential changes were made such as adopting and implementing the role of risk managements.
